next pic:  first BIG issue.  on the left side there was plenty of room to mount the KURY arm around the stock passenger footpeg mount, as it "wraps" around it and bolts on from underneath.  The right side...the headpipes are in the way bigtime.  For me, I had previously installed the Harley Goodies passenger footboard extension kit to move them outward 1".  Did not like it so I took them off ( I LOVE their rider footboard extensions :2vrolijk_21:).  The only 2 ways I could see to install the KURY arm was to either take off the headpipe or have a very flat handled "L" shaped hex head driver.  You could theoretically take off the stock pass floorboard mount, keeping the mounting bolt in the hole of it, install the KURY arm to the stock mount, then put the mount back on the bike....BUT you'd have to have a very flat "L" shaped hex head wrench in order to tighten the stock mount back to the bike (the space in yellow lines is between the mounting bolt and the back of the KURY arm).  Maybe 3/8 - 1/2".  Otherwise remove the pipe.  For me, I just put the Harley Goodies extender back on and then I could get the bolts mounted from underneath without a problem.

Conclusion:  was a fun little project that turned out as good as I had hoped.  I knew from previous bike that I could not "store" the footpeg arm due to the leather pouches, but I was used to that and okay with it.  I did not have the proper tools to cut the pins square and center-drill and tap the pins so I took them to a machine shop.  He cut it close, put it in a lathe to finish it flat, then drilled and tapped it.  The pin was steel but the KURY arm was aluminum.  I know there's fingerprints in the pic's...let it go.

An easier route would be to add a peg mount, but that would stick out another 1" +/-.  Or you could just not use the pin and use a 4 1/2" bolt straight thru the H-D peg.  I didn't like that idea so much, but it would probably work.  Mostly hardware matching issues with the stock highway pegs.  Maybe a little less strength as well.

Ride safe,
UpChuck

I don't need to do this mod.  But really enjoyed the write up.  That's what this forum is all about. Great work.  Let's Roll
