 :-\

That does suck.  NADA on my 07 was just over $25500.  I have to admit I have bought a four bikes from my dealer in four years but I don't think that influenced the trade value.  Plus, I got MSRP for the new one.

I'll count my blessings.

Unfortunately, the dealers down here, do not use NADA, they use Kelly Blue Book, which is consistantly lower than NADA

 :jalapeno: :jalapeno:

Just got back from a five day 2000 mile trip to Madrid, and then the Coronado Trail (aka 191) and stopped at six HD dealers.  Interesting each had a CVO Road Glide on the floor.  Santa Rosa NM had two and indicated they would take below MSRP.

Seems like Road Glides vary immensely in popularity around the country.  In The Hill Country they are very popular and never stay on the show room floor very long.

Ultra Cove's sell well also down here.  They have sold two 05', one 06 and my 07 in the last two months.

Back in July 06 my dealer where I purchased my 07 CVO offered me $20,000.00 for my Electra Glide on a trade. I wanted $24,000.00.We then agreed that he would put it in his showroom for $24,900.00 & he wanted $1500.00 for selling it. He got full pop for it so I basically got my full price for it because the proceeds were used as a trade saving my the both taxes .(15% at the time). I timed it right, putting it in his showroom about 3 weeks before the 07's came out. Downside is not having the bike to ride until new model  year starts arriving. I was without a bike for 6 weeks. I was building a new house that year so I was too busy to ride anyway.

15K, if it would past their Forty-Five minute inspection. Plus they wanted 30K for the used SERG, glad I walked away.

I've never been able to trade no matter what it was and been happy.  Always seemed what they had for sale was worth gold and what I was trading was worth copper.

Have you seen the cost of copper lately?

I was offered $23000 for my 07 UCSE, on trade for an 09 UCSE.  With the 09 being offered at MSRP.  My bike has 23000+ miles on it and that is about a $13000 hit in two+ years.  Not what I am used to for a CVO.  I don't know what other people have been offered,  but that kind of hit on this bike seemed tough to take.  I was told that was a lot of mileage for an 07.  I told him in TX we ride em. I was talking to a dealership in TN, because there doesn't seem to be and red ultras here.

Anyway, I decided since it was not worth anything and I just now, after two years of HD changes and mine, I finally have it where I want it, so I intend to ride the chit our of it and see what comes down the rode.

It has been well discussed on this site about buying a nonCVO and doing it the way you want it, but you still don't have a CVO.  If the CVOS  continue to depreciate as much as the 07's have there is not a whole of difference, except to say you have/had one.  It is pretty crummy when your soon to be 6 year old bike is almost worth what your soon to be 3 year bike.

Off the box.

john

Considering the economy these days, folks ain't spending money like they used to. We've been living large for quite awhile... even a few years ago would you imagine CVOs selling for retail... or less?

But I'll admit I'm a rookie HD guy, so I may not know what I'm talking about... lol  For those with experience, are the non-CVO models still holding their value better than CVO models?

traded in my 06 street glide that had 38k miles, dealer gave me $14k. Granted the bike had a lot of money into it, but still for new england it had some miles. Bought my 09 ultra CVO for $34k, they wanted full price but told me they would have no problem getting rid of my old bike as a lot of people are looking for used SG's.

I dont know how true that is, but my SG was sold in 2 weeks.

a buddy has the same 05, when the 09 O/B came in, he finally decided to keep the 05, it was time for me to trade, but with only 45K, I really don't blame him for keeping the 103, I have real concerns  as to the reliabilty of the 110, so we'll see.
