Thanks for all your comments.  Could be that the rear tire pressure was low given it was sitting on the show room floor for  along time.  Too many of you had very positive comments to the contrary. I'll have to give it another try.

I run 30lbs, ride solo only, and it handles like a dream. Going through twisties is like spreading soft butter on bread.

going from a street glide to a serg ill never go back. no more fighting bars in crosswinds, verry stable, and a blast in the curves.

Right on Ryan! I did the same. In fact I rode back from the Bad lands on an Ultra last fall with heavy cross winds and surprise wind blasts from semi traffic! I have larger biceps's now and have to carpool when ever possible! Actually, once you experience an RG, all is well... the Road Glide is rock solid stable in the wind and Handles like a sport bike. The SERG is yet another step beyond. Being a sport bike enthusiast I was skeptical of the 18 inch SERG wheels. I'm no longer a skeptic. :2vrolijk_21:

I guess this is a good thread to ask. I see the metal pads on the bag extensions. Is that the first thing to touch down? Seem like a cracked bag and/or extension waiting to happen.

The bag pads are on there to protect from scraping the bags while laying it down in the tight corners..you know, that 35 MPH sweeper at 75..

I figure they are to "protect" the bags. But are they the first thing to "touch"? Again, messed up bags or a "low-side" (as it jacks the rear tire off the pavement) if they touch down before foot pegs. And yeah I can relate to 35 mph 270 degree ramps but at 90+ on my 14. I don't think I would dare to push a bagger like that though.

If someone has touched the skid plates in a corner here I missed it. We've all leaned them pretty far over and if that's what hit first then I guess they're working. We've opined here what the plates are for and opinions have ranged from just that, leaning way over in a curve to protection when backing into a curb.

I think Rick C scraped in a corner on the Dragon on his SERG, but it was the floor boards.

OBTE, those are not skid plates on the bags, they are just glued on and will come off with any force.  Mine came off the left bag within one day of owning it after dropping the bike when my foot slipped on the wet floor.  I was not moving, just went to put down the kickstand and my right foot slipped, jerked it back up and it went down on the left side.  I put some small screws into the bottom of the bag extension.  If you want to install screws and nuts, you have to remove the bag extension to get to the nuts.

Last weekend we have been driving through the black forest , something touched the ground at a left-corner , i did not yet found the point that touched the ground , but it seemed to be the sidestand , but i do not know exactly , i did not found any scratches . But i did not check the saddlebags , will do this tomorrow .
