Interesting article. My friend was telling me about the off site/online back up feature when I was expressing my concern of not having a SD card slot. According to that article that sounds like a really powerful feature...

I'm not so much worried about the keyboard as I am about the remote hosting. Let's just say I have someone's "sensitive" cell number. How do I know it would be made public? I don't like the way that Google gathers up all the information about you and stores it in one place. It's a security issue with me. As you know I'm on Facebook. Well, I accepted an application that allows you to list who you are related to. Next thing I know this information shows up on my credit report where it wasn't there before. It's just too much of an invasion of privacy.

I can see where that would be a cause for concern, but for me I don't know anybody that 'potent. :D :D It also could be a plus in some ways... say your phone and your computer were involved in a fire and destroy your back ups, also with it not having the SD card slot the ability to back up from the web could be beneficial if you are away from home/computer to restore from your local sources if something were to happen to your phone. Like you said it would be nice to know the information that is stored somewhere will be safe and not used w/out you knowing it.

Have you ever used Google's Picasa? In a demo I saw on the web (remember you can't believe anything you see on the web, so says our dealers) when that software was first introduced, they showed how the software would scan all of the hard drives of the computers connected to find pictures. It would then assemble them together to form a mosaic. This particular demonstration showed a cathedral and how it grabbed pictures taken from various poeople vacation pictures to form a 3D image. Now suppose you had a picture of when you were in high school doing something that was improper? A part of that image would be shared. I hope I'm wrong about all of this and am just acting paranoid but could some one here confirm?

If your still thinking about a Blackberry. Look at the Bold. I tested a storm and did not like it and went with a Bold.

Thanks for the advice I'm wanting to stay w/a touch screen device vs thumb wheel driven. I've got about six months remainig on my current contract so I'm hoping Verizon will pick up the Pre by then.
