Just got back from a 2 week HOG tour of France. 20 bikes on the tour including 4 09 SEUC4's.
3 Silver and Blue 1 Ruby, all with under 4k miles.
The Ruby was stock (no mods). One had Monster Ovals and K/N filter and fuel pack. One had monster Ovals and K/N and Sert. All 3 had Cat's in. Mine had Fullsacs, SE performance filter,Cat removed and TTS mastertune using map supplied by Steve at fullsac.
All the bikes except mine were running with syn3, mine had Redline Shockproof, Redline MTL and Amisoil 20/50.
The temperature was never more than 28 degrees.
All 3 of the other rider were complaining about excessive heat from the engine and also about very noisy top end noise when hot especially over 3000 revs and also the two riders and pillions with the Monster ovals were complaining about the booming of the ovals giving them headaches especially at sustained cruising speeds
The Ruby was using 1 pint of oil every 1000 miles but no other problems apart from above.
The Silver with the sert developed a cylinder head oil leak.
The Silver with the fuel pak did the same and by the time we got back to the ferry was blowing blue smoke out of the left exhaust.
Mine ran noticably cooler ,noticably quieter and used 1/2 pint of oil on the trip. The sound from the fullsacs was perfect and didnt annoy me or the pillion.
All 3 bikes except mine were running stock suspension at 40 psi, 2 were 2 up one was rider only. I was running AK20's and Bitubos.
All the other 3 riders and pillions were complaining about the suspension bottoming on the bumpier roads and the wallowing on corners.
Mine never bottomed once smoothed the bumps out brilliantly, was noticably quicker on corners and felt very stable at all times.
I will find out in the next week or so what the dealers have had to say about the oil leaks and will update.
I know this is not scientific testing but it is very interesting to compare 4 set ups over the same roads for 2000miles.
Finally I dont think the 09's oil leak problems have been cured by MoCo.
