Amsoil....By the Gallon
« on: September 10, 2009, 10:21:37 PM »

Let's face it.  We're all saving where we can, so we have more to spend on other stuff, like a new Baker OD6 and 3.37 primary gearing.  :huepfenlol2: This week I replenished my Amsoil supply.  This time I elected to purchase a case of 4 gallons of Amsoil MCV.  Shipped to my door, the total was $139.51, which comes out to $8.72 per quart. The last time I replenished was on 30 JAN 2009 with a case of 12 quarts shipped to my door for 109.66, which comes out to $9.14 per quart.  I'm not sure if there has been a price increase since January, but 42 cents per quart adds up.  It's cheaper by the gallon....and still cheaper (not to mention a much, much higher quality oil that comes to my door...no trip to the stealership) than SYN III either way.  So hang on to a few empty Amsoil quart bottles.  Pour off 16 oz out of one gallon into an empty Amsoil quart bottle, and dump the remaining 3.5 quarts into your oil pan on your next oil change.  There you have it:  A savings of $1.68 per engine oil change, and even more if you use the stuff in all three holes.  Gallons ROCK!   :2vrolijk_21:

Great suggestion!  Plus I can put the old oil in the Amsoil gallon container to take in in to the recycler.  Will do this the next time I order.  Thanks Henry!   :2vrolijk_21:

I'm looking on their site and it says $166.90 plus tax and shipping?!!?  How do I get the $139.51 to the door price?

Thanks  :2vrolijk_21:

Yeah Dracula, I shoulda mentioned that up front.   :(   Last time I renewed my preferred customer status, I did it for 5 years ($80.00) and forgot about it.  The savings from being a preferred customer end up paying for the preferred customer fee many times over if you use alot of their products.  I run Amsoil MCV 20W50 in both of my motorcycles' engines (changing oil and K&N oil filter every 2500 miles), Amsoil #2 Lithium Complex Multipurpose Synthetic Grease in the steering neck of both motorcycles, (really like Bel-Ray stuff in the primaries and transmissions though (changing every 5000 miles)); all oil products in my Dodge ton truck are Amsoil as are all the oil products in Renea's truck and Stef's car.  I even run Amsoil compressor oil in the air compressor, Amsoil small engine oil in the lawn mowers and pressure washer, and two stroke mix oil in the Husqvarna weed wacker and leaf blower.  They make great stuff, so for me, with the amount of Amsoil stuff I buy, it's easy to forget the $80 preferred customer fee I pay every 5 years.
