I have had both types of mirrors and I think with the bar mounted ones you get a much better view of the road behind you. I would never go back to the others even though they now have a small oval parabolic mirror mounted on the face

I agree with you but I like the look, and maybe that's with I had to mod. that the mirrors to increase my vis

I've had them on two bikes and love them. Biggest difference I noted was the loss of turbulence from the bar mounts.

I'm 6'4"  and edging 3 bucks in weight and see some of my hands in the fairing mirrors.  I've always like those mirrors.  I put them on my 02 Ultra, kept them on the 08 SG and will keep them on the SESG...in fact I put the chrome outer covers on them to dress them up a bit.  (You'd have thought for a $32K bike, they could have at least painted the fairing mirrors to match the fairing...:(  ).

I never saw my hands in the SG mirrors.  Well, maybe just a small part of the tops of them......not enough that I even noticed or paid attention. :nixweiss:

Is that the same issue that the rest of you have or had......can't see past your hands?

I've seen my middle finger a few times when some idiot cage's tries a lane changes into mine.. while there texting, or doing their pretty nails or something..  :P
