Loved the museum, it is very well presented make sure you do the audio tour as there is lots of history to take in. We went from Western New York and the trip is all Interstate and the area around Chicago is real torture to get through (twice). We went last August and it was hot or rain stormy, no in between. Riding the Interstate on a bike is less than desirable to me and when over 90 degrees I hate it! The day to leave on the trip came and my good bud asked me which bike I was taking and I told him the Impalla(Chevy). He went nuts on me about how this was a bike trip for cripes sake! Well during the trip not only did his wife end up in the car with me and mine, he asked if he could switch off onto his bike for awhile so he could rehydrate in the A/C for awhile. My long winded point is that to spend 4 days on the road and hundreds of dollars just to attend the museum may not be worth it in and of itself. If you can combine the trip then it is easier to justify. Just do not try to create a diversion while in the museum in order to abscond with the 1952 Panhead Police Bike, their security is state of the art!
