I think I might be a few neutrons short of a picnic. Here ya go
Covalent bonding is an intramolecular form of chemical bonding characterized by the sharing of one or more pairs of electrons between two components, producing a mutual attraction that holds the resultant molecule together. Atoms tend to share electrons in such a way that their outer electron shells are filled. Such bonds are always stronger than the intermolecular hydrogen bond and similar in strength to or stronger than the ionic bond. Just sayin [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

YEA WHAT HE SAID!!!!!! I'll bet Twolane is the only one who really understands what you said. But it still sounded good!

Be safe

I had to scroll back to see what all this talk was about. Now that I know I'm off to my online dictionary and my kid that has a desire to study chemistry in college to find out what the heck you'll are talking about. And to think all I thought I would learn out of this forum is stuff for my bike. [smiley=confused5.gif]

I probably spelled it wrong in the first place.  With all that "atom sharing stuff" Big Daddy said, it reminded me of how a transistor works.  3 or less electrons in the outer shell of an atom, it's an insulator.  6 or more, its a conductor.  4 or 5 and it's stuff that they make transistors out of.  The spot where electrons travel from one region to the next in a semi-conductor (transistor in this case) is the dethnium (sic?) center.  What's even trickier is 'splaining hole flow after 'splaining electron flow.  But that was a looooooonnnnnnggggggg time ago.  But if it only takes 3 licks, then it would never work becuase the ol' electrons wouldn't flow in the first place.  Now days I just "look for the results", like I don't give a rats a$$ any more why or how it works, all I care about is that it DOES work so the skipper of the base doesn't call me for one of those "quality talks."

My life...  Mind full of "CLIFF CLAVEN" stuff.

I think Gilligan might have been the last cat to use transistors since ol' Mr. Carey [smiley=huepfenlol2.gif]
