This probably looks familiar then. Climbing out of Death Valley on June 14th, just putting along.

After watching a nature show on Death Valley on TV, I'm not sure I'd chance riding thru there in the daytime.  According to that special, you can't survive but a few hours without copious quantities of water and harleys break down all to often at the wrong times.  That could be 'deadly' waiting for HOG or Triple AAA to rescue you.  spyder

Good point but it was a cool 95 and she was runnin' great. Wasn't until I delved further into this website that I learned about the 110 having problems in the past. Not to be nasty about it but any bike that leaves me stranded in a hazardous condition will be left behind and I'll try to hitch a ride with another vehicle when possible. Anything mechanical has a chance of failure but if I have to worry about a machine that has the propensity of break downs then I should consider other options. I'm used to my motorcycles being rock solid and I'd be really pissed (should I survive) if a new $37,000 motorcycle left me stranded.  :soapbox:
I'll have to keep your post in mind. I was planning on riding through the night but it was mentioned that the donkeys were thick at night and there had been numerous accidents.

Iselbull, one of the guys I was with had to get backa day earlier than original plans, so we put more hours in the saddle than original plans, but thank you for all the great info.

Also as far as riding across Death Valley have done that before, the route we took was north or death valley, a little higher, and we went across about 9 a.m., we all live in central Arizona so we are aware of the heat and take proper steps to avoid issues because of it.  The bike ran great, have well over 50,000 on her and looking forward to hitting 100,000 on her.
