We left NYC at about 11:00 and headed home back to Maryland....hit terrible thunder and hail storms all the way home, but we made it safely...

Thanks to the 911 Foundation for making this ride possible, 1,000 miles of Police Escorted riding...paying tribute to our Fallen Heros....

I too made the 10th Anniversary ride.  Over 2000 bikes was impressive, even if it was a hard group to manage that many bikes.  Just keeping your bike upright at 10 and 15 MPH for miles-on-end, waiting for those behind you catch up was a real pain!  Even so, I'm glad I participated.  It was my second time for this worth while ride.  Great pictures!  I took several hundred from a handle bar mounted camera, but the vibration from the engine made many of them out of focus and very poor quality.  If nothing else for me, it was a great opportunity for me to put some miles on my new CVO.  It only had 1500 miles on it when I left home.

Thanks for sharing this Nick. Joan and I have been twice and the emotional highs and lows are hard to describe. Glad you made it home safe.

Napalm,

Sorry to hear of your troubles, but glad you made it back home safe & sound.  Obviously you enjoy partaking in the awesome ride and no doubt you will continue to honour those who have died.

Was this the first time your bike ever shut down on you due to over heating?  What has your dealer said about it?  Was there a fix so it doesn't happen again?

Last Sunday I rode 200 miles to celebrate my aunt's 85th and to take her older sister for her first motorcycle ride... A block from my aunt's house my Duracell shut down on me.  Although the local dealer was open Sunday, their service department wasn't.  Spent the night only to find out the dealer didn't have the part to fix the problem.  Heading back down today to pick up my repaired bike - The regulator was the problem.

All should be good now and I will finally be able to take my 89 year old aunt for her first ride this afternoon.

Although my bike has gotten extremely hot, it has never left me at the side of the road.  Just wondering what caused your problem.

Take care,
Grizzly
