Hey Tommy! :drink: :bananarock:

Have you had a chance to get some time riding behind this shield? Did it make a difference in wind Buffeting and noise compared to stock? In the picture it didn't look like you got the smoked version or did you? Being the PITB (boody) that I am... ;D can you post some pics of the front and inside views. Thanks Tommy, Love ya man, God Bless ya buddy! :2vrolijk_21:

Well, I went and got the Harley 10" wind Splitter.  It clears the GPS fine. Seems to break the wind a bit better.  However, this thing is terrible.  We took it out of the wrapper at the dealership and I looked for scratches.  It looked ok, but when I got it home and on the bike out in the light I realized there was about a 1" ghost all the way across where the top two inches are angled out.  After riding for about an hour, I had to get it off.  It was like watching a 3d movie without the glasses.  The parts guy made a point to tell me that once installed, a windsheild cannot be returned.  I'll call them when their open and see what they say.  Hopefully, it is not just a design thing.  Anyone else here have this issue?  It's pretty much unusable as is.

Thanks- Jay

Could you clarify for me please.
Was there a scratch or is it that the vision through the plastic is blurred or deformed ?

About 2 inches down where the windshield angles away from you there is a deformity about an inch wide that goes across the whole windshield right along the angle.  I called the dealer, and the parts guy said this would be the third one he has seen with the same problem and that I should bring it back.  They reccomend that I get the Klock Werks instead, which is what I'll do.

I had the same issue with the 10" wind splitter I bought. I got the 10" because I could fit my fairing pouches in with it but the 7" would not. The curve in the windshield hits right about eye level for me. The curve causes a distortion in your field of view. It was terrible riding with it. I rode for about 10 miles and went back to the house and removed it. Took it back to the dealer. They looked over it pretty closely to see if there were any scratches and ended up accepting it due to a small flaw in the tint.

John Boy!

I had it on for the ride to and from Tampa this weekend.  Wind buffeting is much less than stock but I don't know about noise since I wear a full face helmet.  We rode about six hours in the rain on the way home and this windshield does keep more of the rain off your face shield.

As others have reported, the curve causes a distortion which will drive you crazy if you have to look through that section while riding.  The only time I'm looking through the distortion is when rolling to a stop.  If I had to look through the curved section while riding, it would be on Ebay!

As for the tint, they only sell the "smoked" tint, but you're right, it's a very light.
