Another question:

If you have antennas on the tour pak, how does your radio and CB work without the tour pak? 

I really like the look of these bikes when the tour pak is off, but also want to listen to my radio and possibly use the CB when necessary.  I've been thinking about installing the kit, but this question is one reason I've not gone forward just yet...

I have not done it but a friend has installed the J&M antennas which go inside the fairing.  Her CB works just fine.  Don't know about the AM/FM since she listens to music thru her Zumo 665.

Does someone actually use the CB?  I dont think I have ever switched it to that mode.....

Yeah Joe I use the CB. I use it when touring with a buddy of mine who also has an Ultra. It also comes in handy yakking with truckers.

Right.  Has anyone dealt with that yet?  So far, the cost is increasing exponentially. $$$$...but I guess we're sorta numb to that issue....

from all reports - rewire the entire sound system

on a 07 the sound goes from the head unit to near the speakers [all four] - then from there to the amp and then back to the speakers.

so... there is a cable that goes from the amp under the tank to the speakers in the front and then back to the amp
