HEY GUY'S , I HAVE A 2011 103 STREET GLIDE WITH 4300 MILES ON IT. IMHO THIS ENGINE HAS ALWAYS HAD A LOUD TOP END SENCE I BOUGHT IT NEW. I NEVER HAD ANY LOSS OF POWER , BUT THE OTHER DAY I HAD AN INCIDENT WITH MY OIL PRESSURE GAUGE. COLD PRESSURE APROX 38 IDLE , SAME AT 1300 RPM AND UP. WHEN HOT THE PRESSURE DROPED TO 32-34 1300 RPM AND UP, AND @ IDLE WILL SLOWLY DROP DOWN TO ABOUT 10-12 AND THEN SLAM TO 0. IN 85 DEG WEATHER. THIS JUST STARTED, AS I KEEP AN EYE ON ALL MY GAUGES. I KNOW THAT ITS ALL ABOUT FLOW NOT PRESSUR/ LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM, BUT THIS CONDITION WAS SUDDEN. I PULLED THE J & P LIFETIME FILTER AND FOUND NO PLASTIC TENTIONER PARTS. THE OIL WAS CLEAN AND NOT BURNT.
I HAVE NOTICED NO CHANGE TO THE NOISE ( LIFTER CHATTER ) FROM THE ENGINE OR ENGINE RUNNING LIKE s@*$ WILE THE GAUGE IS AT 0 LBS. I BELIVE I HAVE A BAD OIL SENDING UNIT. I WILL BE PUTTING THE BIKE IN THE SHOP ON WEND. TO HAVE THIS CHECKED OUT UNDER WARRANTY ALONG WITH THE RECALL ON THE REAR LIGHT SWITCH.
I WAS WONDERING IF ANYONE HAD PROBLEM , IS IT COMMON ?, AM I LOOKING AT POSSIBLE CRANK RUNNOUT AND PUMP FAILURE? . THIS IS MY FIRST TWIN CAM. AS I CAME OFF AN 07 ROADSTER 1200. THANKS FOR ANY FEEDBACK.
