I put the air baffle on my bike's forks about two months ago.  It did cut down on some of the air coming up and over the tank, thereby reducing buffetting.  I have noticed a little more shaking on the front end on days with more headwind.  But that is not enough to make me want to remove it.

The adjustable dampers on the lower faring are almost always in the closed postion on my bike.  It's usually cool around the Bay Area, so reducing wind is sometimes essential.  When I first bought the bike and rode it up from LA, I noticed my legs vibrating in strong headwinds.  By closing the dampers, that no longer happens.  It was fatiguing.  I would open the dampers on hot days, just to make sure the engine is cooled sufficiently.

It may be this. i have noticed that not all of the bikes come with them.

They are above the engine so I do not think it has any effect on the air going to the engine.
Just a thought

I think that's what he talking about too. It is a Road Glide air deflector.
I'm not sure why any dealership would put one on a Bat Wing bike.

Don't those move around and rub against the tank?   Those come with the CVO road glide.   I've seen these before.  :confused5:

They don't rub on the tank as they hook into the mounting bolts for the fuel tank on each side and the engine guard which keeps them in place.  They outer tip of the deflector may rub on the inner fairing when handle bars are turned full left and full right. Not a big deal as the deflectors can be shaved off a little on the corners and then they will clear.

it is the black paddle on the crash bar.  It does kill some buffeting.  I like mine.

I can say for sure that these work great on a Street Glide although made for the Road Glide.  I had a pair left over from a RGC that I had briefly before purchasing my SE3 SG.  Didnt know if they would fit the SE3 but when I tried them they did.  They stopped a ton of wind coming in and blasting my chest area that I wasn't expecting from the SG.  The only thing that rubs is the turn signals will bump against them if you turn the bars hard enough but the deflectors are real flexible and it's not a problem.  I don't ride without them now.
