Maybe, but the 255 isn't the issue and certainly it's not ramp speeds on the 255. It's not the cam causing the issues and just want people to understand its all about building the proper combination with all the right components.

I wasn't comparing the 255 to anything else.  I was pointing out what some of the inherent issues are with that cam.

255 = stump puller no doubt, but builds a ton of heat great runner for short shifting, but the heat depending on riding style and where you live can be a bad thing.   Its also hard on the valve train due to the quick closing intake and the heavy poundage that HD puts on the seat and open pressures

Maybe I've misunderstood what your trying to say above, but in any case if you feel the HD 255 cams have to quick closing then your going to be hard pressed to find any out there that are slower, every aftermarket one we've seen are quicker.
