Just thing about a cam upgrade without pulling heads.

Thoughts?

Would have to assume...... and you all know what that gets you, that were talking about a 110. If so there are several very nice cams out there that are bolt in. Pick your poison based on what your riding style is. The Kury, GMR, Andrews and Torque Inc ones would be higher on my list than either of those listed.

What are you looking for that the 255 doesn't do already?

Assuming you are talking about a 110 the 561-1  works well in a stock compression 110

if not both the GMR577 @ Kury 24 are leading contenders , if you decide to pep it up a bit more you aren't undercammed

Another question is what else ....pipes ac tune ?

instead of trying to match a cam to anemic compression that the 110`s have, ide raise the compression (nothing crazy,10.0-1) and go with the S&S .570

The 555 wants 10.3, and the 777 wants a tick more to be effective.
You'll need to pull the heads and have them surfaced if you want to use either to show their full effectiveness.
The S&S .570 also wants to be at the 10.0 cr number, which will require a combustion chamber reduction.

I'm just looking for a little more length in the power curve and help reduce the heat for these hot 110's.

No monster power building. I like torque, a little more rpm before it falls on its face and hate building fires on a hot day. :P

255 = stump puller no doubt, but builds a ton of heat great runner for short shifting, but the heat depending on riding style and where you live can be a bad thing.   Its also hard on the valve train due to the quick closing intake and the heavy poundage that HD puts on the seat and open pressures.

Like remove heat, add some overlap, more mid to top range (extended curve)

Not sure where you got your information but the 255 has much slower open/close ramps than any of the Woods offerings. While it is a stump puller it is easier on valvetrain parts than others. The early intake closing point does raise the heat level at times but can be tuned out for the most part with a good tune.

I think unbalanced was speaking in terms of the CVO heads and the valve springs in use there. Vs the stock beehive.
