I guess the "best" debate covers a lot of territory depending on what you are looking for.

I went with the Reinhart 2:1 because I like the look and sound of the Reinharts.  A very close second was the D&D Fatcats 2:1 with standard baffle.

I'm debating between the FC and the Rhienhart myself. Can you comment on the sound differences?

Thanks,
Rick

In my experience from dyno results based on testing.

1.  Bassani Road Rage 2 into 1
2.  D&D Borzilla
3.  Thunderheader
4.  D&D with Performance Baffle  was discontinued by D&D
5.  D&D with Standard Baffle
6.  Vance Hines 2 into 1
7.  White Brothers E-Pipe  no longer sold or made

Rinehart has not yet released a big bore 2 into 1 its expected any time now.   The one they released was for 88" motors.

Sound is best from Bassani, Thunderheader, Rinehart, D&D, Vance Hines in my opinion.
Problem with Thunderheader is its cheap chrome.

D&D and Rinehart are best chrome out there hands down.   Vance Hines will blue just a matter of when.  Bassani is just different ...

Harry, clarification on the Rinehart's.Here's what the man himself said back in July about their new 2-into-1's as far as up to at least the 103":
"Joe,
I have had very good response on the 2 into 1 systems on 95 and 103 c.i. engines. The main diferrence between the true dual and the 2 into 1 is the true duals will have better top end H.P., and the 2 into 1 will have better bottom and mid range TQ than the true duals. Over all I have heard good response on the new

CVOJOE,

When I called both Bub and Rinehart directly I was told differently from the email you have from Gerald.  While they maybe working well that was not the intent from Gerald, as he put it.   I am not saying it doesnt work, the question was the best response from a 2 into 1.  The rinehart 2 into 1 didnt perform as well.   We werent testing 88's or 95's though.  I am not saying it doesnt work, not saying it isnt good, what i am saying is in performance tuning it did not show as well.  The Rinehart and the D&D have the best chrome out there.   I also happen to love the Rinehart sound, but the info given was optimum dyno tuning testing.

I am not going to words in Hubbards mouth, but as memory serves me he also talked to Gerald about the 2 into 1 and I thought Hubbard had said he had gotten a similiar response.  You will have to verify that with Hubbard though.   Its off topic anyhow as I was giving my 2 cents from what was seen based on dyno runs / tuning.

Don't forget RB racing 2-1.  I have one on my 103 CI and got 104HP and 104 Ft/Lbs.  I have one for a twin cam bagger brand new if anyone is interested.  Karajean@Adelphia.net

Harry,
I'd heard or read that before regarding the Bub 2-into-1's, so I went right to the company that designed them. They claim the design is fine for up to 103", so maybe they changed something in the process of manufacturing them? Anyway, would like to see some dyno results comparing the various 2-into-1's, but with the vested interests involved amongst the vendors, doubt if anyone will ever to do a non-biased full blown test.

Joe,

I have to agree with you, I doubt you will ever see a full blown comparision that isnt slighted one way or the other.

Carl,
Supposedly new 110" systems will be available in Feb/Mar timeframe. If you get the chance and ask him about both the 103" & 110" systems and 2-into-1's. If he, or Bub, would put out something official it'd sure help wouldn't it?  [smiley=nixweiss.gif]
