I seriously doubt that HD would produce an entirely new engine design for it's touring models that have always had a 45 Degree V.  So the exhaust note would sound the same, all other things being equal, IMO.

Now they COULD design a touring bike with the Revolution engine design and bigger CC's, or sandwich two Revolution engines side by side for a V4 that would be a kick ass engine.

But, even if they did, doing that to one of their touring bikes that is part of their bread and butter sales is unlikely.

It would not surprise me at all to see the first water cooled V Twin in a Road Glide though, particularly since they are supposed to be redesigning the fairing or whatever their reason is for not having a '14 RG.

I went for a demo ride last week.... the only bike that was full all day, 30 minutes after registration was the RG.... and they are not making any for 2014? Sounds odd... the situation not the 2015, I have not heard it yet :D

Water Cooled would be nice, if they can keep the exhaust note and grunt that is

"..He siad his buddy told him the testing area for the '15 RG is off limits to anyone not working on the project, he said his buddy states the sound of the motor is not typical HD and sounds like it is water cooled."

I just have to ask:  Will the Harley water pump have a patented "potato-potato" sound, too?  If so, where do I sign up!

My the way, Miker, now we all know who bought that Water Buffalo. 1972?   :2vrolijk_21:

Oh holy Willy (G).  Just thought of the first SE accessory for the HD cooling system.  They'll have a PTO thing on the end of the water pumps (like some of the counter top blenders).  There will be offered a chrome and a black (granite to come later) version of the "SE Potato-Potato-Potato" Harley Davidson French Fry cutter.  Unique system that can deep fry your freshly cut fries using engine heat and locally supplied fresh leaked engine oil for that freshly ridden potato taste!

Cynical we are...yes.   ;)

Whatever they do, I sure as hell wouldn't be the first to run out and buy one.  I'm not into Beta testing Harley's chit.  It only took them what...1.5-2 years of production to get the 110 right?

They have for as long as most here can remember used the commerical fleet (us) as Beta.  Too many examples of it for anyone to assume it would be different this time.

In one of the other threads on the 2014 RG it was mentioned that the machine (only one) that does the templates for the Road Glide fairings broke and that is why there will not be a 2014.  Actually my dealer confirmed this but added that Harley wasn't sure it would do all the 2013 Road Glide fairings for this year anyway.  A new machine/template is being made and it will produce a slightly redesigned Road Glide fairing for 2015 and beyond.  Take this for what its worth but when you hear it from various sources that have no knowledge of the each other it may just be true.

If the 2014's aren't water cooled, I think they would run so hot that those fries would burn before you could eat 'em.

Or....  multiple dealers (i.e., "sources") who all read the same letter from the MoCo (letter that's also been poster here and other places online for further distribution).  Multiple tellings aren't multiple sources.  It's only independent verification if they're not reading the same letter.

May be entirely correct.  But just because the MoCo said so isn't highly prized data.
