How long are you going to be in Mexico?
I've been a few times in the past two or three years. The last exit off of the freeway before you cross over there are a number of places that you can get Mexico insurance on your bike (your US insurance will likely not cover you). No firearms in Mexico. Keep your passport with you as well as your driver's license. Leave your jewelry, Rolex, etc. at home. Travel during day light hours and don't be in any shady areas after the sun goes down (no, all of Mexico is not shady contrary to popular belief of those that have never been there.). Cities like Ensenada have an area downtown that has more American tourists than they have Mexicans. We stay at the Best Western in Ensenada when we go. "Topas" are rude speed bumps......slow way, way down when you see those on the highways. I take Hwy. 1 along the coast but there is a toll road that's a little faster.
Where are you riding to?
Here's a couple of ride reports I've done.....
