Yep! You are 100% right, I just read the fine print, my mistake! I asked several dealerships today "specifically" is this a Harley warranty or a 3rd party warranty, they ALL stated Harley.  >:(
So, what is the best route for this?   Is the tire coverage really needed?

The 5 year extended coverage( 7 total)  is about $800 different from what the dealer is offering and this place online,

Pretty pissed about  being lied to by every dealer.

Rather than bouncing that question through the regular gossip Mill I would ask a site member called HD-dude. He is a well-respected shop owner so actually has the perspective that is gained from seeing what the various contractors honor, cover, and how easy they are to work with.

I would recommend everyone do a final inspection on their CVO's, my bike only has 10k miles on it and I have had tons of issues with it since purchase.  This is my 4th Harley and I tell everyone they are problem free if you keep them stock, Im beginning to doubt that now.   Anyoen ever had issues with the factory extended warranty?

http://www.harley-davidson.com/content/h-d/en_US/home/owners/financing-and-insurance/extended-service.html

Of the five CVO Harleys I have owned only two have had no major issues.  One issue free bike is the Very built 13 CVO King, motor was built at 1500 miles.  Also so far my 17 CVO Street glide has not had any issues, 18,400 miles.  The 17 is stock.

The below bikes were stock except exhaust.  They all had major issues.

09 SERG, failed compensator twice, failed lifers, took out cams also, and required a rebuild at 46K miles traded after this.
12 SERG, failed regulator, failed compensator, failed hydraulic clutch, traded at 45K miles
15 SERGU, lifters failed at 44K miles, required a new motor.

Those bikes were all covered by HD factory warranty.  They were less than 2 years old.  The 15 made it by days, a week later on the failure and I would have been stuck with it.

Knowing HD's lack of reliability with the 110 I trade at the 2 year point.

I guess worst case scenario what is the cost for a new 110 crate engine from Harley with installation?

MSRP for a 110A crate engine is $5195, and a 110B is $5495.  Consult the SE catalog for details on the Crate Engine program.

Another approach is the Long Block program, which includes everything but the heads and primary components.  MSRP for a 110A is $4395, and a 110B is $4695.  See the attached pdf on the Long Block program for details.

Some dealerships will discount those prices btw.

Labor will depend on whether you choose to have a dealership do the work or an independent, or if you are capable and willing to do the swap yourself.

Every service done by dealer.  Never missed a service.  Syn 3 oil is what was used in them all.

Lifter failures are common on the 110.  I know another 15 SERGU that had a motor replaced at 36K.  Another friend had his 14 CVO Limited have lifter failure while we were in WA, a long way from home in TN.  This one was only 21K miles
