Here's something to look out for.

Thanks Chief. I did not notice that. I have never lifted the bike for anthing but maybe the dealer did. I'll mention it to them tomorrow.

I spoke to the service manager this afternoon and he said the Harley has recomeded to replace the cylinders. They have a 110 kit in stock that they will use the parts needed from. He said that the pistons looked fine. Is there anything else I should be asking the dealer to look at while we are at this stage? Is there any other concerns that should be addressed at this point? TIA, AJ

For those of you that don't know, a barge hit the main bridge that connects the island that I live on to the one that T-bone lives on. The bridge is right at the foot of my condo. It's been taking about an two hours to get across now.

AJ rides one time with Nancy and I and now he needs to replace the cylinders.
Good thing it was only 250 miles!

If they are replacing the cyclinders, What a great time to do some other great stuff to that engine.
Why are they replacing the cylinders?  Should the rest of us be asking for that if we get the leak
at the head gasket?  Wow, quite the issue here.

Monday morning update.

I just calle dthe dealer to find out the status: The automatic compression release was not working that led to the rear head gasket developing a hole. Replaced.

Innerprimary developed a tear in the seal. Replaced.

No word yet on the original problem of blown fuses. I should be picking it up tonight. AJ
AJ,

Read your last post and went back searching for info as to why cylinders and then saw this one. A faulty ACR would be the last thing I would point a finger at as causing a hole in a head gasket.

Can someone 'splain this to me?

BTW, I checked the rear head gasket on mine yesterday. No real leak, but the edge of the gasket, on the right side, just under the exhaust port, has seeped a teensy eensy little bit, enough to collect some dust. I rubbed it clean and will keep my eye on it, but I'm sure it won't get any better. Mileage, 1,400 and change.
