I had the leak as well on the '06, not as heavy (light seepage) but there.  I will be watching mine when I get back on the road.

I just got off the phone with the dealer. I asked about the compression release and told them that I was having a hard time with cold starts. Is this something that needs to be done?

Oh, Can I get a Mod to move this thread to the right forum? It should have been in FLHTCUSE2. I must have inadvertently put in in the wrong place.

Monday morning update.

I just calle dthe dealer to find out the status: The automatic compression release was not working that led to the rear head gasket developing a hole. Replaced.

Innerprimary developed a tear in the seal. Replaced.

No word yet on the original problem of blown fuses. I should be picking it up tonight. AJ

Hmmm, I know you took this opportunity to replace the inner primary w/chrome if you don't already have it. Could have saved installation charge.

I'm going to have them check the teeth because of the hard starting due to compression release failure. If so, it may be covered under warranty & then only the upcharge for the chrome. We'll see.

The latest update today is: after replacing the rear gasket they realized that the front needed to be done. I guess they tried to save on only doing the rear first (understandably). In addition they scratched the pipes while doing the work. They said they would make good on it so I'm not worried (yet). So the bike will be in the shop for a few days and I will not have it for my trip to NY. I'll keep y'all posted.

Here's something to look out for. In the following pic, it appears that the frame cross-member is bent up. This happened to my bike too, by lifting up the rear-end with a scissor jack that hits the edges of the cross-member. I was able to beat it back down into shape when the inner primary was removed.

I am now very careful to never lift the rear of the bike with any load on the edges of the cross-member. I always use a piece of wood to fit up into the channel, and go all the way from one side to the other, and put the load on the middle of the channel instead of the bent edges. This piece is very weak, and can get bent very easily.

Second point of interest. I see some very unatractive bolt heads in this picture. Please get that fixed.
