I did not have to open brake system yet, If my brake line ends up being long enough there wont be a problem, otherwise I will need to have a new line made and trailer to my HD dealer to bleed brakes. I stoped by my dealer today an they said no problem If I wanted them to do that. No problem with the new throtle sytem either, wires are long enough for new bars.

I think somebody on here mentioned you need to use the Harley digital tech to bleed the ABS system, also how will the new bars work w/ the fly-by-wire?

If the brake pipe is long enough, he won't need to bleed them! ;)

I just ordered a set of WO's for my 07.  I have read comments about the brake lines.  What are anyones thoughts about, do you or do you not have to replace the brake lines?  If so does any one have a HD part number or aftermarket name & part number?  Also would you be replacing the entire front brake lines or just part of them?  As you can guess, I am not going to do this, just want to know what to expect from the guy that is.

Also, the guy that is installing the bars, mentioned to me about changing the bushings.  I haven't read on here about anyone doing that.  Any thoughts one way or the other?

Thanks,

john

Hi John.  You must replace the brake lines - no choice. And you are replacing the entire line as the stock one is one piece - no unions. Part number you need is 45252-04.  I was going to change the bushes on mine, but the ones I got were the wrong size, sadly. Be aware that you may have to replace the throttle cables too. You also need one 55917-08 Handlebar clamp.
