Everyone is different of course.  But I really doubt that even with metric arms you'll have a problem.  Will take a few miles just to get used to the difference of course.  Then a moment of clarity will occur and you'll realize, "hey, that 'spot" that was uncomfortable before isn't anymore."  :2vrolijk_21:

In my case the stock bars got me in the small of my back closer to the right shoulder.  But the hand and wrist angles are so much better that lots of things improved.  You'll likely be quite pleased.  Of course the damn things just look a heluva lot better too.

Yes, got me in the same spot on the left side, being stumpy, or should I say "vertically challenged" and all, Don!  Can't wait to get out on the bike to find out how they are though, just a few weeks more of winter.......  8)

I think - and I fervently hope - that the main thing that made me dislike the extra width on the MoCo touring pullbacks was that they flexed a lot, and the extra width exacerbated that.  The Chubz are a lot more rigid, so that won't be an issue!

I just put a tape on the stock bars and they're 32" to the outside, bare.

:indian_chief:

The Chubz are 37" dressed.  All we need to know now is the standard bars dressed.....

If the WOs are 34.5 as per their spec then the overall width is 2.5 over stock or 1.25 each side.  Not really all that much Jim and I don't think you'll have a problem.   :2vrolijk_21:

the problem is that each manufacture measures their bars differently

I called moco ant the stock bars are

tip to tip 31"
bottom of bar to the grip 9.70
grip to bend (pull back) 6.65
bottom to top fo bend (rise) 7.30
bottom width 7.25
null size 4.7

also talked to flanders they said they have three bars that would work for me

650-28195  2" wider  2" taller  2" back
650-28185 2" back  1"  wider
650-28715 just 2" back

all sold by DS

there is a page on flanders web that shows all the stock harley sizes (the way they measure them)

And are the Flanders bars chrome, and slotted for internal wiring?

This is what you have to look forward to, half way through my upgrade to WO 575's.

Jim, I'll be most interested as you make progress, especially with how it all fits back together for you.

I have to go on a cruise with my wife tommorow, cant wait to get back to install bars. With the ABS brake system it looks like the brake line might me long enought for new bars without any modifcation. Line is one piece from brake handle running under gas tank to ABS module on the right rear side. attached is a picture of excess brake line prior to removing OEM bars. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Jim,

I too will be awaiting your successful install (always good to see someone else's experience before you embark on a task).
Are all the wires - throttle wire specifically - long enough?

Have a great time on the cruise - good time of the year to take a cruise :2vrolijk_21:

Thanks, wiring won't be a problem, definetly long enough, also running 4 additional wires inside left side for GPS power and audio input to radio.

Jim

Thinking I might as well go ahead and update radio for aux in on the rear of the radio, the only problem is with only 400 miles on my bike I'm sure I will void any warranty that I have. Like already haven't with the Traxxion front forks or the Bitubo rear shocks or the Hog Wired amp and speakers or the WO Chubby Bars or the Etronic HID headlamps system or the Clearview windshield. I better stop here, I'm starting to think I'm a little nuts.

I think somebody on here mentioned you need to use the Harley digital tech to bleed the ABS system, also how will the new bars work w/ the fly-by-wire?
