My first ride on SEEG2 ...

The handling is spot on. This is my 3rd Electra Glide and I couldn't believe how good the set-up of the bike is. I am so glad that I bought a factory bike and not a custom like some of my friends. The steering geometry is spot on and it likes corners better than my previous Glides.

Before the bike arrived I was all for changing the suspension to raise it up 1 inch front and rear to replicate a standard glide. I have had the boards down once but I know feel that the factory knows best and I am sticking with stock suspension.

I was previously keen to change to Progressive 440s but I cannot agree that the ride could be improved. It is "Bob on" even riding two up. The bike just has a sportier feel to it than a stock glide.

I can only assume that you guys who have changed to Progressive 440s are chasing that "wet sloppy sausage feeling" that American cars have. Comments??????????

Glad you so enjoyed the ride Tony.  Had to be a good feeling and a lot of fun.  If you're satisfied with it now, however, just wait a bit and get used to how it feels.  Then sometime make the change to the Progressive shocks.  The difference really is both obvious and significant.  It really is a much better handling, more stable and even more comfortable platform with the Progressive shocks.

When you and Bob On are riding two up and your chasing that wet sloppy sausage feeling, you had better worry about what your Queen thinks instead of shocks.

Her Majesty's staff did pass comment today as they stopped me to discuss why I was doing 110 mph in a 70 mph limit!

Bob wasn't with me, otherwise he might have been able to disuade the old Bill from giving me a ticket which will undoubtedly result in a 28 day ban.  [smiley=oops.gif]

Oh ... Jaguar (that company now owned by Ford! They used to handle well in the UK although I do believe they used to "sloppy 'em up" for export Stateside. Anyway they are probably all sloppy now that Ford have got involved.

I am not saying that all British cars handle firmly although Lotus and TVR have strong reputations. We do however like those Mitsubishi Evos and Subaru Imprezzas over here whereas the States seems to have a love afair with SUVs and Lincoln Continentals!

Now, I gotta admit, even though my all time favorite cars were a 57 ausin healey and a 63 E-Type Jag, I do LUV those Confidential Flo-Mobiles!!!      [smiley=beatnik2.gif] Har!     spyder [smiley=beatnik2.gif]

Like you say, 2Lane, a little experience does change your mind.

After topping 2,000 km (daft sods told me I can't have MPH speedo without getting standard black) I am erring towards one of those devices that prevents lateral swing arm movement. I find that it weaves somewhat at 100+ when you hit a bump.

Tell 'em to buggar off Tony.

2Lane,

It's not the cash it's the principle. I have spent Brewsters' and the half wits who thought that they could create a CVO with a kmph speedo for UK need to open their minds!

Wouldn't you push them?

It is the dearest Harley ever made.

Tony you just got screwed by the fact that HD must think England is part of the Continent.  Apparently at HD they never listened to Winnie.  But hell yeah, in the same situation I'd bitch like a Service Manager that didn't get her money.
