Never seen them here. Not that I've checked either. I never have a problem in the car with it mounted on the windshield. But the bike's a crapshoot. Even if I have it mounted on the windshield, it fails to open 1/2 the time!

yes, that's what I'm talking about.  They look like a fat black bar above the plate frame.  Like those crappy devices they used to sell with radar detectors that supposedly deflected radar signal (the biggest scam ever).

I always wondered what those were. Don't have any toll roads here so those that have them must be commuters.

In Calif. it's Fast Trak for all the bay bridges.  If your vehicle (motorcycle in this case) is registered that's good enough.  When the camera takes your picture they run the plates and see that it's a vehciled that's on the Fast Trak list.....end of story.

I have four vehciles but only two transponders so the motorcycle never carries one but I've never been mailed a ticket.

Howie,
New york does have outdoor (weatherproof) transponders for cars.  It's about 6"-7" long and a bit over 1" wide.  also almost all inside transponders are optimized for mounting on a car or truck windshield which means they work best when in an angel.

I forgot to mention that if you keep your EZpass in windshield bag along with cell phone, it may not work to well unless the phone is off. :nixweiss:
