Well I wish you (and me) luck on the new bike.
I have a plan "A" and "B" already.
But I always do!
You can't read all the stuff here and not!
We pay the money, take the chances and move on if there's issues.

Chip,

Thanks for the well wishes, for both of us we can never have too many of those.

Harry, I thought that you didn't like the 09's!! :huh2: :huh2:

As far as 103 or 110, The 103 is better than 110!!  :beatdeadhorse:

I took a 96 to a 113 and it ran great, cvo eater all the way!!  Bumping up to a 110 is about the same price as going to a 113, so you might as well!!  :idea3:

Actually, a Jims 120 is probably the best bang for the buck!! Then you can keep your stock motor or sell it and off set some off the cost!! That would be better than going through and splitting your cases and all to go to a 110 or bigger on the stock motor!!
Like it was said earlier in this post, the motor swap is less headaches, regardless if you do some of the labor or not!!

I probably should of done that instead of my 113, but I couldn't pass up the deal that I got on the 113, so it turned out ok!! But, I know what I am doing this next time...!!!

07 SEUC with the 110 engine.

Two head gasket failures. Excessive crank run out. Had it rebuilt, crated up and stored. Jim's 120. Still working on getting it properly tuned. I intend to, if it takes ever dime I've got.

09 SERG with the 110 engine.

Plan A: bought it, and hoping; Pray it works as intended.

Plan B..Buy the extended warranty, and keep repairing it at N.C. I have a spare Ultra.

Plan C: Get tired of repairing it and put a Jim's in this one like I did the Ultra.

Plan D: Take the Ultra's 110 out of the crate and drop it in the RG.

There's good points to having spare parts and bikes.

SirMichael,

You speak correctly as I told you I really didnt want an 08 or an 09 bike, as I am not a fan of Fly by wire it is not perfected on the bikes yet, and that I am not a fan of the 110 either.

I really wanted the new creature comforts the 07 didn't have, better seat, better frame, better ride, 180 rear tire, 6 gallon tank, a real tour pack, paint/color scheme and hopefully a cured 110 leak issue.

That said Mike I went into this with a few choices in plans before I decided to go down this road and trade in the 07.

Plan A  was fix the 07 again and pray a lot (wife veto'd this plan)
plan B  Put the 07 back to completely stock, do the recall and trade it in on either a stock ultra or cvo ultra
plan b1   If stock ultra, chrome it out, put in a jims crate motor and roll on down the road.  More expensive than a cvo and not all the features.
plan b2   Buy the 09 bike and if the problems persist, know up front I am spending 10 large to put in a Jim's motor in.

my 110 experience has been good...'08 fxdse2...I've owned it a year, have 9k miles...only problem is the digital fuel gauge never worked...bought the bike knowing of the head gasket and acr problems...pulled the heads and sold them...installed ported heads off a 96" motor, better cams, better head gaskets, and a fuel injection controller because I knew this was a proper fix and would also make it run with the v-rods...if you're unwilling to do these things(with the exception maybe of just blueprinting the stock heads),  IMO choose another type of bike

I like plan b2, but just put the jims in right away!! Lots of $$$$, but would be really nice, thats for sure!! Plus you would have a brand new stock motor to sell or keep!! :2vrolijk_21:

 Sorry for  :jack:                                                             SirMichael
