All these ceremonies are too complicated for me. I've always starting riding the bike as necessary, without going full throttle in any gear. That worked fine for me so far. And there were more than a handful bikes.

Ride safely, do not worry!

Took it kind of easy and varied speed alot for first 300 miles.  Opened her up a bit last night on Interstate 10.  That new frame rides reeeeaaaal nice.  Note near enough O's on smooth to describe the difference as compared to my 04.

Thanks,

I've owned six (New) Harley's in my lifetime. On each bike I rode em' off the lot taking it easy the first 500 miles, keeping rpm's below 3K, not lugging the engine, changing oil/filer at 250 miles and again at 500 miles and again at 1000 miles. In a nutshell, just rode them easy but after 500 miles, i rode em' like you guys are trying to catch me  :2vrolijk_21: Never, every had a motor problem. Just broke in a 131 with this method and she is running sweet at 2,800 miles.  :)

Dangit........

Just finished delivery on my 2009 FLHTCSE (Autumn Haze), but got out the door without owners manual.  I hate when I am a dumb ass.....I guess somewher after 40 that CRS stuff must be for real.  Planning to ride tomorrow and dealership is closed.  Salesman gave me "his" readers digest version, but wanted to read it for myself.  Can anyone give me their breakdown of break in for 2009's?

Thanks
Kevin

How did you end up without the owner's manual.  I think mine came from the factory in the storage pouch inside the back edge of the tourpack.  At least I think that's where it was.  I can't say for certain. now, since I know my salesman took it out and stuck tabs on all pages of the manual that he thought were real important for me to read immediately.  Yes, my salesman actually went through the manual and stuck adhesive tabs in about 50 different places and labeled them for me.  He has also been calling me about once every 2 weeks to make sure the bike is running okay and to see if I have any questions about the bike.  Maybe he thinks I'm going to try to bring it back.

Sounds like good followup to me. Who was the selling dealer again?
