Put the money in Municipal Bonds. Try to avoid any California ones though. The Governator says he won't be paying us our Income Tax refunds which technically would put the state in default.

So the old saying going whole hog has been changed by a flying pig to going full hoist, makes more sense that way.

Not sure how I came to be designated a "flying pig"  Am I being dissed here, having my chain yanked or what ? Sorry to sound obtuse, but I'm not sure I am getting a feel for your intent.

Be that as it may however, I do take credit for the term "Whole Hoist"

a flying pig is in Hoists avatar so when I think of doing something all the way (like Hoist does) it seems more appropriate to say whole hoist (as in flying pig) no intent to pull anyones chain but someone earlier in this thread mentioned it already.

At it's most basic, an internal combustion engin is an air pump. Air (+fuel) in - -- Air (burnt fuel) out. When you change air in, obviously you need to change fuel in etc. When you simply change air out, there shouldn't be a need for a change. That's the equation at it's most basic. You can argue it 100 ways, but that's really all there is to it. IMHO, if I were adding a pair of slip-ons, I'd also swap out the stock paper air filter for a K&N one and leave it at that until I was ready to go WHOLE HOIST  :D

I think this has enough Merit to end up in the dictionary as the step beyond whole hog is whole hoist as the difference between a grounded pig and a flying one. So this means Hoist may be mandated to never change his Avatar. I know the original intent was when pigs fly but this seems to have coined a new phrase.

I seem to remember someone in their signature stating I am always a $1000 from being finished, never hear a truer statement.

Actually, for the very first time, I think the SERG will be the first bike I can say that I'm Finished with, someday.

Have you ever pulled the plugs on a stock bike ? 14.7 AF  I have looked at many ,and they don't look too bad. Little bit of tan. YES , these bikes are running lean , BUT, the H-D people have spent countless hours on timing and air-fuel at ALL RPM's and throttle postions, etc. I have been doing this 'stuff' for many years and in the old days, a man would ride his bike into my shop and you could look at his ex. pipes and say WOW , we need to re-jet that carb. Pipes were almost white and then pull the plugs ,you talk about white and 'blistered' ! BUT , that back in the day where 96" was a huge motor. I run a TFI and all it does is 'ad' a little more fuel ,does not change timing, rev limit ,etc. but it runs great.  Just a thought. Years ago ,we didn't have dyno's ,so I got real good a 'reading' plugs, fuel line, ign. line, etc.  Dewey
