I rode about 70 miles this morning and I am no longer disappointed. Luckily, I noticed right away that I was down to the odometer showing that I only had 3 miles left on this tank of gas. I wouldn't think it would be the case, as I assume there is still more fuel left in the tank than that, but is it possible that I had a lack of fuel yesterday. I took it real easy on the way to the gas station, which just happens to be just about 3 miles away, and once I fueled up, I could not duplicate any of the problems that I had last night. In fact, I was grinning from ear to ear. I took the bike to a small stretch of divided 4 lane highway, and rode from one end to the other, and made sure there were no police hiding out. I waited until there was no traffic and started at a dead stop on the other side of the highway and really got on it. I felt the front tire lifting off the ground in 2nd, which didn't surprise me, but when I hit 3rd and I felt it just about come off the ground, I was pretty impressed. I must have been hitting it pretty hard for that to happen. Anyway, I did stop in at the dealer and picked up the dyno sheet, and parts of my old exhaust that I noticed that they forgot to give me back. I told him how disappointed I was yesterday, and that today, it seems to run much better than the numbers indicate. The only problem I have now is that these Fat Cats have ruined any chance of me sneaking in and out of the neighborhood quietly. They are pretty loud. I can hear the stereo well, but I do have to crank it up, which I do anyway. Overall, I think I would have probably been a bit happier coring the head pipe and leaving the Fullsac's on. They have a much more acceptable tone to them, but at the same time, I'm definitely feeling a seat of the pants difference with the changes made. It feels like a real torque monster now. Back to the gas thing...I only got 104 miles out of that tank, which worries me. I assume that when the dyno is run, they are using up a lot of gas, but mileage isn't showing up with only the rear spinning. I hope I am getting better mileage than that. I did notice that the bike seems to have cooled down significantly. I didn't notice any heat and when I put my hand by the pipes, I could get very close to them. They just don't seem to throw much heat off.
