That's what we all need. A grammar lesson. Come on, live and let live!
Ride safely,

I was just about to say that Fab needs to include some punctuation marks when he writes. I had to start reading his post 4 times just to figure out where he was going with this. It started off sounding like he wanted us to help him put his bike up as a deposit on a Fat Boy. If you are going to ask for help, make it easy for the people you are asking to read and understand what you are asking. Anyway, welcome aboard Fab. Don't get yourself all worried about a few posts pointing out problems. You have to read to the end of the book sometimes for the entire story to come together. In this case, some of your worries are 07 and 08 bikes and don't have a thing to do with the 09's. The heat is as pointed out above. Harley has to build bikes to emission standards and the fact is that it's probably the exception, rather than the rule, that someone would leave everything stock anyway, especially the exhaust. The fix for the heat problems is something most of us would be doing to our bikes regardless of heat issues; changing the exhaust, air cleaner, and having it tuned. As far as paint flaking off the engines, you just happened to find the only few people that seem to be having this problem. It does not appear to be something widespread whatsoever. I do understand that these bikes are far from inexpensive and the additional upgrades are pretty much a given to those that have owned Harleys in the past. Personally, if you would have asked someone like me before you bought the bike, and said you can buy the bike, but can't spend more to make it your own, I would have told you not buy the bike at all. It can get to be an expensive undertaking. The good part about it is that they do run fine stock and you will enjoy the bike as your bought it. None of these upgrades are absolute necessities and I will assume that you plan on keeping this bike for the long haul. Take your time and if you want to do some upgrades, do so over time. You don't have to any or all of it this week. You have purchased a fine machine and again, don't get caught up worrying about things that haven't even gone wrong with your bike.
