I never got over 6,000 on the rear. I usually trade every 2 years so I don't have to replace the front. I read somewhere the 180s on the 09s aren't even going 5,000. The 180 on my rice rocket was gone at 4,000. I keep 45psi in everything.
this is why you only 6k way too much air

I have gotten 12k on each of my bikes off the rear tire, an 04 Road King and an 06 SE Ultra. I have never replaced a front tire with less than 20K on it. We ride about 20K a year or so, mostly on distance trips. The 09 Ultra has 5K on the tires so I have a ways to go before I need to replace them. I hear they are more expensive. Does anyone know the price of a new front and rear for the 09 models?

I think some are missing the point of the original post.  The 2009 tires are a new dual compound design, with a harder compound in the center and a softer compound on either side.  The idea is to increase straight down the highway tire life with the harder compound, while still allowing good cornering traction with the softer compound.  If the real world results are as good as the advertising, folks with '09 Touring bikes should probably see better mileage on the tires.  Of course, that may be offset by the fact that the bikes are getting heavier every year. :nixweiss:

Wow...having just bought an 09 cvo ultra i was hoping for similiar mileage i got from my 06 Street glide, about 18-20k on each set. No lie, but most of my mileage was highway.

I just returned from a 2500+ mile trip and that puts me over 4200 on the bike now, and the tires still look in great shape...much better than I would have expected.  On my RK, my first rear tire was shot by 5000 miles.  I can see that I will do better on my SEUC.

They just replaced my tires at 5800 miles.   On a smooth surface being pushed by hand were making a lot of noise. The tires were unevenly worn, and the factory rep had them replaced, heard rumor that there was an early batch that had some problems, hopefully that is the case.  After the tires were replaced you could then hear the motor again ...  dunno how good that is, but the noise level went down considerably.

Then I guess I'm lucky I have loud pipes and can't hear my tires.
