The original SE stroker crank and rod assy, PN 23600-00, retailed for $1149 and required the Timken bearing conversion on '03 and later motors.  It was a much better piece than the light weight POS that was released in 2007 and is currently used in all 96", 103, and 110" motors, PN 23728-07A for $699.

A version of the older forged crank assy is also available for '06 up Dyna and '07 up touring for $1249, PN 23601-05. The Timken conversion is not required, but I wouldn't consider installing it, or any other replacement without that mod.

The new FLHTK motor is a standard 96" motor with the stage 1 kit (bigger bore barrels and pistons) and addition of ACR's in the heads. The older 103 SE motor had different cams and heads I believe. Looking at the specs, I also see a little different bore and stroke......just minor.
Maybe someone with a better memory can fill in the gaps on the older 103 SE??

Know the differences from the Limited 103" and the SE 103".

What do you think the engine would run like. with say Andrews 54H Cams, same engine configuration, one change mount a set of SE 103 heads.

Example Andrews 54H or similar cam, catless (Fullsac) header pipe, Supertrapp Fatshots, tuned with TTS or SEST, Ventilator or like A/C assembly, bike is an ULTRA mostly used for touring one up. Have already Been through the 130 hp and 134 tq (Jims 120) stages and don't need to do that anymore.

The 103+ heads would be a goof but they have their place.
The heads you have are awesome with a little Street Port rework
Then run the 54s and a tune with your pipe plan and you will be very happy. The 54s are a very smooth running wide torque band cam. This motor will be a gentlemans hot rod, and not break the bank.

How are the 110 heads? Are there any hope for the 110 heads to be reworked without a lot of time and money and then use the 54 cams you recommend, along with fulsac baffles?

They both have their place
I would use the 110 heads on 110 and larger motors and the 103" just use a stock bathtub head.
The 110 heads have a few issues that fall into two categories
Longevity
Airflow / Velocity enhancement
Not hard to fix and then you have a long lived low oil consumption good performing head package.

Can this be fixed by improving the valve seals, polish the ports a little and re cut the seats?

The guides are fit wrong
On the 07 and 08 not enough press in the head and on all of them too much clearance fit valve to stem. Seals are a patch only.
The Intake valve I change to the same HD valve used on the MVA head 2.120 to correct for a 93% throat on the stock head (too big)
Get those issues out of the way then the airflow work begins.
