900 bux? That is a small price to pay for a unit to tell you where the closest Harley dealer is! Nothing really when you think of how much I will spend when it leads me right to the door of the biggest money pits on the planet. 900 bux will be just a drop in the bucket compared to what I will now get to spend...think of how many stores I passed on long trips. That will never happen to me now!

OK, I'm sick, I need help

People are actually buying this setup??

You've got to be kidding me, a Garmin 2610 for $500 has ten times the functionality of this POS setup & you can use it in all your vehicles.....

The best feature of a GPS next to the turn by turn directions is the real time moving map display, I would never travel without that myself(I am on my 5th GPS unit at this point)

Doesnt harley sell a nice one that mounts in the fairing for $599. I was going to buy the one that mounts in the fairing because of the maps. I believe its made by garmin?
Anyone have one of these...likes or dislikes?

That's the one that keeps breaking that's been being talked about in this thread the last few days:  [smiley=beerchug.gif]

A Garmin 2610 with a RAM mount is an awesome GPS setup for a motorcycle.

It stores maps on a removeable compact flash card.  If you install an $89 2 gig cf card, you can load detail maps of the entire USA & Canada at once from the included DVD.

It is shock & waterproof & has a touch-screen feature that is awesome.

Wonder if there is anyway to mount it on the dash...? fr8
If the unit was thin enough it could be put on the dash and attatched to
the shield.

How is yours mounted fr8?

I have mine mounted with a RAM Mount on the handlebars, but I don't have the Quest either.  Certainly looking for a chrome bar mount though, that ugly black thing has to go.

Well, I am new to this forum and like what I see so far. I have the GPS unit in my radio and have to agree with some other comments that they could have done more (like a map). However, I have several other units and after using this one I will tell you that I think they didn't put a map on there to keep us from killing ourselves! Unless it is mounted higher, you wouldn't want to be looking down at a map.
It comes with two CD's that have the street level details on them and once you load a route you can take it out and listen to tunes. The problem I have with it is that when you are not using a "Route" it gives you NO information. All my other GPS units will at least show you the next street coming up so you can look for a turn or something. This one is either in the "Route" mode or just the "Stare at you mode". I got a 25% discount on it and having it installed at the time of the bike extended the warranty out to two years so I don't feel really bad. I am curious how much the updated data disks will cost once these are out of date. Sorry for rambling on....Cheers and Ride Safe (or the other way around!)
