Mine was like new also.. the big thing I noticed once the tire was off the bike,.. Is the Tire is cupped. Dealers are replacing front tires because of cupping, but not rears.. what's up with that???

Mine had 9200 miles on it with plenty of tread and my dealer replaced it free of charge. I even offered to pay partial if need be. My front was replaced at about 2000 miles and its starting to cup again at 10,000.

Any added risk to your life compare to the cost of tire seems like a no brainer to me. I would replace a brand new tire if I had a puncture that your describing.

Replace the tire, you only have 2 why sacrifice yourself with 50% of your tires questionable.  Your body will hurt a lot more than your wallet if you go down.
