I have gotten outrun by a screaming eagle 103 ultra. With a tuner and 2 into 1 pipe, a big bear sled with an s&s 100 all stock, and an 88ci springer that was "built". These are just the regular guys I ride with so I don't know what else is out there faster and really don't care to be the fastest as i said. Just seems odd that these bike all with smaller motors are faster. I guess I will start with a cam and go from there. Hate to re spend money already spent but we will see ....

Spyd,
Has nothing to do with messing with the Northern Yankee Chapter of West Virginia, its more like I have just gotten used to having the power when i want to call on it.   Feels like I am riding a moped at times in comparison.
I am thinking about making it up there for MV, although not sure I can swing it yet, as it is end of the quarter.

Spyd, you gotta stop picking on Carl, it's not fair that you bust on Maudie for being in a trailer, its the only way to ensure she makes it.   Each visit down here she seems to end up at the doctors office for something or another haha.  A good shot of penicilin and she is on her way again ahaha, besides Carl would be hard to live with if he broke down in the middle of nowhere without the Featherlight and his Toyota.

Let's see if this gets his attention haha. :huepfenlol2:   :huepfenlol2:

Don't be stickin' that chest out too far there, Harry.  Ol' Maudie will bust your a$$ one-up, and you know it.  Never hear me complain about her comin' apart, either.  I don't see how she's stayed together the times she has, the way I've abused the Ol' Girl.  I like that Ol' Motorsickle, and when she comes apart again, I'll have Tilley fix her again.  Don't own a toyota.  My third ex-wife, what's her name owns that unit.  Matter of fact, I don't own any vehicles.  Company owns 'em.  You fu*kers can make all the fun you want to about me being President of the W.H.O.R.E. Club, but you wudn't makin' fun of the FEATHERLITE when I had to haul your broke-down "Road-Queen" and your big a$$ home, were you numnuts?  There endeth the lesson.  ;) Later--HUBBARD

After taking a FLHRC up to 103" with cam and hc pistons I was undewhelmed with the stock 110 in the Fatbob. It took pipes, an tuner, cams and hc pistons to run like it should have out of the box.

You have started down the wrong path but it's only money bro. :2vrolijk_21:

Lets try to get back on track and help this fella out.  I mean no disrespect Nbomar but is it possible that the guys beating you have more experience in racing than you do? Drag racing is tough on machine and body and there is no getting around the repairs that will come at a quicker pace.  There are no free rides, but as we have read from guys on this post it can be exilerating to get these big machines up to speed.  To some it's very important and to others it's not and they will recommend that they are not built for speed or they may have another bike for such activities, we all have choices.  It boils down to two things the machine and the rider.  We know this forum is loaded with experience & knowledgable builders & racers.  If it's important enough to you I would be practicing on my own and figure out the power band vs when to shift and work on your reflexes.  You may be able to get faster without spending another dime.  When I find myself in a situation that calls for my childish side to come out, I drop the clutch and never touch it again until it's over & I'm slowing down. I'm not recomending that you power shift but it has helped me even the odds on more than one occasion.  I have been told by some knowledgable folks that it can cut at least one full second on a quarter mile run, I have no way of proving or disproving that statement.  I guess if you figure on the amount of distance you would cover while counting the full second like "one one thousand" while doing well over 100mph that is a considerable amount of distance from clutchless shifting.  Some of these guys have some impressive skills in racing & their machines, some are desighned for straight line runs and others are for superior handling.  So it again points to machine and man, some excess cash is always good to have but then isn't it always that way.  Try to get to a point so you have maximised your bike and experience so you are positive that you know that this is as fast as your combination is capable of going.  At some point you will have to learn to be content with what you have unless you have an endless supply of cash, but you are still at the right place to get the information needed on where & how to spend it.

You may want to consider switching bikes with some of the people that you ride against if you feel comfortable with that just to see what happens, be carefull when driving different bikes as everything changes.  Be safe and don't put yourself or anybody else in harm's way.

Good Luck & keep us posted on your progress

Ordered a woods 555 for the bike to be installed in a couple weeks. I really am liking the sound my bike has...Don't know that I want to spend another $1000 on D&D so I will probably just ride it with the cam and be happy...for a while anyways.

Just my opinion, but your choice of pipes probably has a lot to do with things, but if you like them, that's all that really matters.

Strange how that works out. I owned bikes where the difference between the worst pipe and the best pipe was 4 horsepower, and I owned bikes where the difference between the worst pipe and the best pipe was 24 horsepower. I have seen cheap Cycle Shack duals that look like a stock exhaust outperform the high-tech 2 into 1 systems too.

In my experience, pipes that look cool and sound really good usually don't perform all that well... and pipes that perform really well look dumb and sound trashy.
