Nice pics! I wandered around Oregon last fall to get away from the rain of the Island and the Lower Mainland of BC...and Washington......The weather turned into T-shirt ridin' weather just into Oregon fron the north. I saw a lot of the same sights that you did...but didn't take nearly as many pics.

Thanks!

Those are beautiful pic's you have taken of that part of the USA. I intend shipping my bike over for the 2013 HD bash out at Milwaukee and intend coming into a port on the west coast. I have a little time yet to plan our route and that will definitely be part of it. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated. We intend on touring for 6 to 8 weeks and will plan our trip around the 2013 HD anniversary.

Thanks for sharing and giving me some great ideas.

JT, between California and Milwaukee you will have PLENTY of beautiful places to ride and see...  especially given the fact htat you'll have 6-8 weeks!

Get your "Motor Running Head", out on the highway!

What we've got here is... failure to communicate. Some men you just can't reach. So you get what we had here last week, which is the way he wants it... well, he gets it. I don't like it any more than you men

Thanks CAP, I'm certainly looking forward to exploring some of your beautiful country and soaken up some good ole American hospitality.
I reckon Ive got a fair bit more homework to do before I get the best route figured out and when I think Ive got it somewhere near right I'll post it to you  for your comment, thats if you don't mind.
Happy to hear from anyone else with some suggestions for great riding and sight seeing betwen the west coast and Milwaukee.

Cheers JT

CAP,

Glad to hear you enjoyed the scenery and the ride. Sorry about the rain -this year has stayed wet and cool longer than usual is actually about like normal. (Sorry HG5, don't want too many people deciding to move up here...) It's finally warming up now though.

I was looking at your GPS route, and it looks like you may have missed a little of the "good stuff" just outside Crescent City, CA. Did you miss the turn off onto Hwy 199 on accident, or was it part of your plan? The route you took on North Bank Road is nice, but the short section of 199 between 101 and North Bank Road has some really great old growth Redwood forest and good twisties too. It's always dark and cool in that section, so it's a nice place to go through on a hot summer day.

Glad you liked the stretch along the Rogue River -it's one of my favorites!

Sounds like you had a good time and that's what it's all about!  8)
