Thanks for the picture !
My dealer tells me that there is nothing wrong with the bike and the fuel pressure is holding.
My tuner says he has another bike there that had the same problem and when the dealer ran a pressure test that too showed to hold.
However when he took the bike back to be tuned it showed up again to only have 45lbs. So the problem with that bike as well as mine is intermitting.
The dealer has the fuel regulator and lines there that I ordered. He doesn't want to change them stating there is no problem. SO... with the season growing quickly to a close here in Vt. I'm going to call him this morning and tell him to replace both and I'll pay for them. The hell with the warranty, I want to get my ride tuned and spend some time in the saddle.
Your original post said Joe found a hole in the line. Is that correct, he actually found a hole, or he suspects there is a hole? Obviously if he actually pulled the pump and sending unit and found a hole, the dealer should be able to find that same hole. If, however, they are just checking pump pressure with a gauge plumbed into the line sitting in the service bay then they will only find the problem if they accidentally run the fuel down to the same point where you are experiencing the problem.
Rather than let the slacker's off the hook, tell them to pull the pump and sending unit and thoroughly inspect the lines. If there is no defect, you will pay. If they find a leak, warranty will pay. You might want to be there during the inspection.
