My wife and I did a ETA event in "06" Sailed from Miami, cruised to Puerto Rico, St Thomas , St Marteen, Bahamas. 7 dayer. P.R. was a little deflating as it was our first stop with the bikes. We rode to a few local bars , we actually got to ride up to the entrance of El Morro and got a tour of the fort. Then onto a gratuitous stop at the local Harley Tee shirt shop. But not before meandering thru the small streets of San Jaun and getting stuck in traffic. We did have a P.R. Motorcycle Police Escort from the ship and then back to the ship.
St Thomas was the next day, our escorts were locals from the island. Our stops were Mountain Top , Magens Bay , and then again the gratuitous stop at the tee shirt shops. The roads are not for the faint of heart. Very steep and winding , I don't think I ever got out of third gear. Don't get me wrong though, the island is very tropical and beautiful. It was a great experience.
St Marteen, we finally had a chance to get it out of 3rd gear. My favorite of the trip. I believe we went around the whole Island. We were hosted by the local Hog chapter. Great folks. We stopped at a few beaches and a couple of local bars. Sunset Beach Bar comes to mind. But that day I saw the most dumped bikes ever. Again the roads are not for a novice bikers. The riders were not down shifting fast enough and lugging the engines until the bike just quit climbing up the hills and just falling over.
Bahamas, we were not allowed to ride our bikes on that island. Maximum CC requirements. Something to do with being able to run from the cops and them not being able to catch us. Whatever....................Bahamas, not my favorite Carribean stop anyway.
Over all it was a fun trip. It is about a 1\3 more expensive than a normal cruise.....................................................Fuzz
