
I agree 100% for the money you pay for these 'top of the line' machines. you would expect HD to ensure they are built with only quality parts AND ensutre a full QA is completed prior leaving their manufacturing facility. My bike arrived with faulty fairing and required replacing, I have friends whose bikes arrived with rusty foot pegs and the list goes on.
As you say, the ride is near perfect, although I fail to understand why they have yet to fix the death wobble on the road glides.
This is my 2nd CVO and must admit the first one (2006 electra glide ultra) was perfect. just blow up AFTER fitting new oil pump bearing assy(HD supplied) by moco.
HD funded all repairs as admitted bearing plate/bearings faulty.
So, can only assume since 2006, they have changed their parts suppilers AND the quality has been affected accordingly.
I wonder what their warranty repair costs are and if anybody is working to get it reduced, Reduce warranty cost = better QA = increase profit = Enhanced customer satisfaction = improved CVO feedback = more CVO sales....SIMPLES!
