New Engine Completed
« on: December 04, 2013, 11:58:27 AM »

I have recently completed a new engine for my CVO Road King. Has any members here had experience with a similar build? What did you make for Power?
2002 FLHRSEI, Sleeper 105" Twin Cam-A
-   Langer Performance Special set-up Balanced, pinned, welded and trued flywheel set with carillo H-rod set, w/ 4.375 stroke
-   New crank bearings, left and right sides, ’02 cases
-   K/B forged pistons 105” HB908C-40
-  +.040” Big Bore H-D cylinders
-   ‘99 TC head castings, 88CC, 10.0:1, 183CCC, CNC Blended port, CNC Radius, stepped performance valve job, with H-D guides and seats, AV&V valves and 6000 series spring set, w/165# seat pressure
-   Screaming Eagle Pro Air cleaner, w/K&N filter, head breathers plumbed to the street
-   HPI 51MM throttle body with blended 1.800” intake runners, stock sensors and injectors.
-   Andrews 54G cams, Corrected compression 9.01:1,( w/.04”MLS gasket and 9.86:1 static comp.)
-   S&S gears set
-   Ultima Billet Cam plate
-   Ultima performance oil pump
-   All new Cam bearings and Hardware
-   AMS Hylift lifters
-   Andrews easy install push rods
-   S&S rocker arms
-   MLS .040 head gaskets, (come on now, I have to live with the obtrusive heat down here, and my tuner)
-   D&D Fat Cat 2-1 head and muff system, wrapped baffle.
-   Direct Link

Except for the exhaust and if you really look hard, the throttle body, the engine looks like the day I bought it in 2002

No reason that kit should not build 110/120. I am sure it will  be a very fun bike for sure  :2vrolijk_21:

Thank you, I know it will be fun too.
It just rankles me that I was not able to build more pressure with 10.5 or 10.75 CR and lay a much hotter cam in it. But this is Texas and it's too dang hot for that young man build, plus the fuel challenges. I need the miles more than the thrill these days. So I compromised and did what I could and I got to have a lot of fun building it.

It is not about the mechanical compression, but rather the cold cranking pressure with any given cam.

Thank you, Scott.
In my mind I thought that I covered that with "much hotter cam". As I look back, I should have been clearer. I am just happy to be able to put some power onto the ground with the heat and fuel challenges down here. My original 95" build was done in Montana and I was able to get away with much higher pressures(netting 101.5T, 96H), but when I moved down, literally, to Texas I had to detune the dickens out of it to keep it out a 4th & 5th gear, 2,600-2,900rpm detonation issue. Hopefully my low 180's (CCC) will prove well adjusted for the conditions and the new cam and cubes will make me smile.

Glad that I use these forums. I learned last night that the Fat Cat that I was sold does not meet the D&D standard for choice. Kind of in a jam now.
