tried to follow what this guy was doing, and it seemed to work okay but for some slight variances, but the big thing that i notice that after selecting my start and end points, and letting garmin create my route, it just did a beeline from point a to point b (as the crow flies...) i tried to use the insert tool to edit the route as he did, but seems like basecamp doesn't necessarily want to keep me on the road. whats up with this? obviously, I'm doing something wrong, and i do have basecamp set for motorcycling....
attached is a pic to illustrate what i mean.
After the debacle of updating the Zumo RT 660 with the 2015 map update and then blowing up BaseCamp I had to re-install BaseCamp and it is a newer version than what I had previously. So maybe the following are errors in the latest version:
1. After I made a route and then added a service station as a waypoint for a refueling point / rest stop the route recalculated and took a slightly different route for a part of it. The service station waypoint was directly on the original route so there was no change other than to add the stop.
2. When I selected the 'undo' tool (the counterclockwise arrow) so I could go back to the original route before I added the service station waypoint instead of seeing the previous route I got a direct route (as ekim60 posted about) between all the various waypoints along the route - not on any roads just point-to-point as the crow flies.
Man these folks at Garmin sure can try one's patience!
