I am sure this is a dead horse being beaten again, but I cannot for the life of me get the right sound. Do I really have to buy true duals? I have factory header pipes, no Cat. V&H Monster Rounds with the baffle cut down, and Big city thunder baffles in the header but it still isnt right. I have been experimenting with muffler packing at different thicknesses and might be getting close, but still I want the deep rumble with a little edge on rapping the throttle. Ideas?

Your not going to believe me, but since you asked you are never going to find that elusive perfect sound, with one set of mufflers, I have spent years swapping pipes baffles headers tru duals etc and some sound better at idle, some while under throttle and others when cruising, and others just obnoxiously loud, I realize sound is a very subjective subject but I have a set of Screamin Eagle Touring Mufflers, on now fitted with Fullsac 13/4 baffles that sound decent run well, and look good, Im trying to live with them lol they aren't perfect, but I have mufflers stacked up like cord wood, some in the basement some in my loft that aren't perfect either I have a decent welder and chop saw so I can use stock muffler inlets and outlets and insert any brand baffle, I would suggest finding a combination that you can life with and keeping them, it will save you tons of labor and money, Good Luck
