Are you asking about the Zerk fitting on the neck??? If so it should be on the left side of the neck about 2/3 of the way down from the top triple tree.

Note that this grease gun has a 90* fitting on it so the actual zerk fitting is pointing to the left almost 90* from the frame neck.

Yeah but after doing more research. They did away with it no more lube until 25000 miles.

so your telling me that the entire front end comes apart to repack the bearing at a recommended 25k miles, and you have no option to add lubrication if needed? Is that what the owners manual says?
Do you have a shop manual for the bike? that should tell you how to lubricate the neck bearings. It seems strange that the MOCO would eliminate that fitting, but they've been known to do stranger things.

Looks like your right -- no more fitting  :nixweiss:

If you get to the 25k mile point and do pull the front end off to service them I would recommend drilling the neck and tapping it to accept a Zerk fitting and installing one for future use. Unless you want to pull it all apart every 25k. Seems to me if the bearings are properly packed and you keep them lubricated you shouldn't have to pull it apart all the time.

Unless the MOCO went to a sealed bearing and that's the reason for "servicing" - which would translate to replacing them every 25k

Might be better for most people overall. Using the incorrect grease or over greasing can be worse than no grease at all. If they're sealed they should be fine for that mileage or even longer.

They aren't sealed bearings.  And the service interval is indeed 25k miles.  I had to disassemble the front end of my Dyna to service the bearings, and while it was a bit of a PITA, it was nothing compared to what it's going to be like to do it on a full dresser.  This should be interesting.

Due to the 25,000 mile neck bearing service and tear down I am going to upgrade my front forks during the service. It also seems like a good opportunity to replace the bearings with new. Hopefully someone will come out with a bearing upgrade before I need the service.

Neck bearings shouldn't need much service or greased with a zerk if well packed,as they don't spin constantly like wheel bearings would.

Disassemble entire front end every 25k.  Has anyone estimated what that's going to cost in HD labor for those that don't do this themselves?  Just curious.

Oh my, its going to be probably a $500 service invoice at the dealer to tear down the front fork to lube the neck bearing where now its a $10 tube of Harley "SPECIAL" grease and 10 mins of my time to lube the neck bearing !!!! I guess that is progress ????  For all of us that haven't bought into the need for a NEW and IMPROVED "Rushmore" CVO, more reasons for us to just keep our OLD CVO'S  !!!! Just sayin.

Heck, my HD dealer charges $500 for an oil change.  I would hate to see how much this is.
