Nice, Chip! Thanks!

Thanks Greg. Nancy and I just went through the entire song with the explanations and it was interesting to understand the meanings.

I love American Pie, one of my all time favorites.

I knew about the meaning of Verse 1.  I knew a few lines or parts of other verses what they referred to, but not the whole verse like 1.

Very interesting thanks for sharing.

It's an era that a good part of us came from, just saying!!! The 60's and 70's left a mark.  :drummer: If you where there you dig what I'm saying.  :apple: Never figured I would survive  :o Bedroll strapped to the handle bars for weeks  ;) That where the V-twin got into my blood. :stars:

Interesting...it would be even more so if Don Mclean himself would provide the true meaning someday.

Thanks for posting this Chip.  American Pie is a great song and a tribute to a truly great artist, Buddy Holly.  His death was like the closing door on that era of music.  What a loss that he died so very young - like another of my all time favorite singers, Patsy Cline.  Patsy's crash site is less than 100 miles from me and I've visited it several times.  And last year on my trip riding the Jefferson Highway from Winnipeg to New Orleans I made a little side trip to visit the crash site that claimed Buddy and the others.
