there is a small piece of trim that goes on the top of the instrument bezel. that is removed before you drill 2 small holes to mount the iron aces mount. if you ever decide to remove the mount, you can reattach the trim piece and the 2 holes will be completely covered up. blocking part of the radio face plate, well, who cares? it isn't like it is telling you some very important information, like mph, or rpm.... i never listen to the radio itself, just my ipod, so i pretty much know what every song that plays is, and i can see over the top of my gps to read the clock display. i see no downside here. the only thing i did different with my gps is to use a swivel mount from crutchfield that would allow me to 'stand up' the gps more so i would be looking more straight on, as opposed to an angled view.
