Thanks for the pics and the report, JR!!  Good to see everyone out having a good time on the first day of the new year.  It's been cloudy and pretty chilly here today, and Suzanne is a bit under the weather, so I've been playing nurse and watching football.

Those folks out there in the water must have some anitfreeze in their veins to not have a wetsuit on!!

Great Looking pics JR.  Good to see the others in your area and you enjoying your CVOs, the companionship, the day riding and brining in the New Year in class and style.

Jamey and I rode today as well.  We pulled out of our garage with a few sprinkles, but we were geared up, so no problem.  We drove through some pretty bad rain on our way to North Richmond where a polar bear ride was supposed to take us to Tapahanock for some seafood lunch.  Well, [highlight]we saw three very bad accidents enroute [/highlight]- folks dying to get to their destinations - and when we arrived, we were the only two on bikes.  Jamey said he kept looking to see if I was doing OK in the rain, but every time he looked at me, I might have been soaking wet, [highlight]but I had a huge smile on my face and was obviously enjoying what we were doing.[/highlight]  Kinda dissapoining that no one else came out, but we road back home, got out of our wet gear and went out in four wheels and still had fantastic seafood lunch.  We also enjoyed bringing in our New Year with a bike ride and good lunch.  Happy New Year all.   ;) :) [smiley=huepfenjump3.gif]

I hope them wrecks weren't people on scooters! [smiley=nervous.gif] I'm glad you had a great time! I have that picture of you smiling in the rain...come to think of it, I don't' believe I ever seen you without a smile on your face!!!  :DYou have certainly come a long way Candy. I remember when you first got your scooter and was trying to get that sucker lower to the ground so your little toes will touch! You look like a ballerina on two wheels but your passion is greater than all the big bad bikers in your area that didn't show up for the ride. Except for that manly man husband of yours, Jamey! Way to go! Happy New Year and God Bless!

                                                                                     JR [smiley=bananarock.gif]

I love this picture of you talking to Barry.....Tell me you don't look like a ballerina!!! ;D

Didn't get a chance to Gary, there were hundreds of bikes out there and Mark left before me. Looks like it will have to be another day! [smiley=nixweiss.gif]
Sounds like Mark left early so he could get out the crowd and see what the mods to his [smiley=bananarock.gif] would do. ;D I bet he was grinning like this [smiley=vrolijk_4.gif] all the way home.

JR,

Thanks for the pics.  Its in the high 40's here today, but the bike sits in the garage :-?.

[highlight]I have been to that part of Memphis in my business travels. [/highlight]

I would love to take my boat out today, but it is in storeage and the lakes here in the DFW area are so low, that most of the ramps are closed.

Those are some brave folks that would wakeboard in water that has to be about 50 degrees :o  Way too cold for this ole boy.

Hey Bro, you ever come thru Memphis again you best be sure to let me know! Well get ya a scooter and go ridin, or I let you take my nana if you promise to love her like I do! ;D There are plenty of folks here to hook up with! [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

One interesting side note, where they are skiing is a safe harbor on the Mississippi River and this is where the Manatee that was found swimming last month. Sadly, Sea World rescue was unable to locate him and he was found dead a few weeks later. If you saw any of those stories on the national news, this is the same spot, in JR's pictures where the TV crews were filming.
JR, great job and thanks posting. I got home by noon, Kathy was shocked, said that was the first time I went for a ride and came home when I said I would.
This morning was a great way to start off the new year; nice ride, great people, bunch of CVO's and good weather.
Happy New Year Bro. [smiley=banana.gif] [smiley=banana.gif]

Gary, close but I promised wifey I would get home in time to pack up all the Christmas decorations and store them back up in the attic for another year.
You are right, I did open her up to test her out but since I took my backrest off this morning I kept trying to fly off the rear. ;D ;D
The backrest is back on now. [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

JR, thanks for the pix and details of the day in Memphis!   [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]   I lived in Memphis on Park Avenue, 5400 Park Avenue to be exact at Park Palace Apartments.  I don't miss Memphis, but I do miss the Mighty Mississippi and Memphis in May.   [smiley=drink.gif]   Memphis in May was a lot more fun in the early 80's when it was just an intimate get together  of friends cooking, drinking, and having fun.   [smiley=drink.gif]   Once it became commercial I didn't enjoy it as much.  However, maybe Terry and I can ride up in May and we plan have a Memphis in May "rally".  The sunset symphony was one of my favorite events.

I wish you a Happy, Safe and Prosperous New Year,

Suzanne
