European trailer advice
« on: February 26, 2015, 04:23:03 PM »

We are wanting to buy a trailer for the CVO to tow behind our motorhome and want something a bit more stylish than an ordinary box van trailer. We are in the UK and the market seems to be very limited. We have found these Excalibur's in Germany.

Does anyone have any experience of these or similar trailers with hinged lids?

Dave

Sorry - don't have experience with this model but I sure do like the look of it. Just shy of $6k in the states but I see them on line in Europe for a whole lot more Euros.

I am not one for trailers but I do like the looks that one. Pretty good idea how they keep the profile low and cut down on weight with the hinged roof.

HUGE advantage over most single scoot trailers in that it is enclosed.......worth the extra bucks in elbow grease!!!

That's a Mag Series.   http://www.oldinc.com/magseries.htm

I don't have any personal experience with them but I have seen them at several dealerships and at Sturgis.  I've seen them be loaded and unloaded.....a one man job.

You might want to do a google search for Excalibur Motorcycle Trailer for more info.

I've owned the single place and two bike versions of that trailer.  Had two of the singles at different times and one of the dual bike versions.  Great trailers.  Pull very easy and you load in to them with great ease as well.  Absolutely no complaints.

Only word of warning I can think of isn't with the trailer itself.  Just make sure you keep good tires on it.  An old dry rotted tire that comes apart inside those wheel wells will tear the trailer up badly.  Never happened to me but saw it once.

I'm surprised by the posted picture that going up the rear ramp is not lifting the tongue in the front into a wheelie as it's not hooked up to a tow vehical, does it have a rear kickstand?      [ Randy posted from Sues computer forgot to log me in]

Can not be seen in the pics but these trailers have retractable legs in each rear corner.
