Stop and go tire plugs
« on: March 05, 2015, 07:30:20 PM »

Anyone carry this kit with them or used it to plug a tire? Its the mushroom shape rubber plug pushed from the outside in. Its a temporary  fix to get back home or a tire shop.

I probably have over a hundred thousand miles on mine.  Been in the left saddlebag of my lst 5 bikes.  Never needed it.

I'm convinced that since I have it, the Tire Gods have smiled upon me and allowed me to ride  on without a flat.

Said on bended knee in all reverence to the said Tire Gods.

I carry the Nealey Tire repair 7"kit and a cycle pump. knock on wood I haven't had to use it on the bike but I have used one on a car tire. I looked at the stop&go kits for awhile and the reviews that seamed very mixed and limited to the size of the puncture as to how well it worked and then went with the nealey kit.

I also carry the Stop n Go kit, but haven't had to use it. Hope to not need it.

I carry the Stop N Go kit - the one with the "rope" type plug. Like others that have posted, so far I haven't had to use it yet and I truthfully hope the gods of tire inflation keep smiling upon me, but it is reassuring having the kit in the saddlebag.

Which version do you carry? The one operated by the allen screw or the squeeze lever type?

Just asking, since I'm learning what is good to keep in the bags with the new bike
I carry that one and while I've not needed it (thankfully) I did use it last year on a friend's bike.  Worked great and got him home (about 250 miles) and to his dealer for a new tire.

I carry a plug kit I picked up at a rally a couple of yrs ago.  Bought it from the No-Mar tire changer booth.  Never used, but I'm ready.

i carry the kit without the co2 cartridges.  i have a small air compressor that plugs into the cig lighter on the bike.  i can air up as needed and not have to replace cartridges.

I always carry a plug kit and compressor.  I've used it more for friends bikes (UltraFXR for one) than my own.  It seems when my tire blows, Its too big of a gouge and I have to wait for a tow(trailer)

I keep this in my bag.Its made to last and works great. Ive had the reamer come apart on the cheaper kits but theres no breaking this thing. Used it yesterday on my daughters car with screw in tire. PROS- This really works and made to last. CONS- Kinda big takes up some room,a little pricey, need inflater too :bananarock:
